Position Summary

The Director of FP&A will serve as the architect of the organization's financial planning and analysis function, partnering closely with the CFO and executive leadership team to establish scalable planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes.


Initially operating as a highly hands-on individual contributor, this leader will be responsible for building the foundation of the FP&A organization while creating the tools, frameworks, and disciplines necessary to support a sophisticated and rapidly scaling business.


Over time, the role will evolve into building and leading a broader FP&A team.


Key Responsibilities

FP&A Leadership & Strategic Partnership

  • Serve as the primary finance business partner to the CFO and executive leadership team.
  • Build and lead the company's FP&A function, including processes, reporting structures, and organizational design.
  • Partner across operations, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, commercial, and accounting functions.
  • Translate operational performance into actionable financial insights and recommendations.


Forecasting, Budgeting & Strategic Planning

  • Own the annual budgeting process and recurring forecast cycles.
  • Develop rolling forecasts and long-range strategic planning models.
  • Create and maintain integrated three-statement financial models.
  • Establish forecasting disciplines, assumptions, and reporting cadences.
  • Drive variance analysis and identify key business drivers impacting performance.


Executive Reporting & Performance Management

  • Support Board materials, executive presentations, and management reporting.
  • Develop KPI dashboards and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Provide financial analysis supporting strategic initiatives, growth opportunities, and capital allocation decisions.
  • Partner with leadership to improve visibility into business performance.


Systems, Analytics & Process Development

  • Evaluate and implement FP&A technologies, planning platforms, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Improve reporting automation and analytical capabilities.
  • Design scalable reporting processes capable of supporting significant future growth.
  • Establish best practices for business analytics, data governance, and management reporting.


Organizational Development

  • Build foundational FP&A processes and infrastructure.
  • Develop recommendations for future team structure and staffing.
  • Create repeatable processes and controls that support a scalable finance organization.


Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 8+ years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance experience.
  • Current or recent experience within a publicly traded company environment.
  • Demonstrated success building or significantly enhancing FP&A functions, planning processes, or forecasting infrastructure.
  • Strong financial modeling capabilities, including integrated three-statement modeling.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership teams, Board reporting, and strategic planning processes.
  • Background in manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, defense, supply chain, or other complex product-based environments preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, business partnering, and executive presentation skills.
