MajorDuties

  • Directly responsible for the planning, organizing, coordinating and executing the Courts' capital projects. Serves as the principal advisor to the Deputy Executive Officer on all facets of the Courts' capital projects program that include managing the design, engineering, maintenance and repair, construction services, as well as responsibility for all related administrative activities. Manages the team, including staff and contractors responsible for, assessing the current condition of electrical, air conditioning, plumbing and other essential facilities and equipment, while ensuring that all equipment and other facilities are working properly. Assembles, reviews, prepares and analyzes budget material for annual division operating budget and capital budget justifications and cost estimates. Identifies areas in which operating and capital funding costs can be utilized through the more efficient use of resources. Manages staff and resources to better secure the Courts' buildings/facilities, thereby proactively mitigating these facilities from the risks of fire, flood, and other hazards. Performs all responsibility of a Division Director including staff supervision, performance management and participation in meetings. Incumbent could be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

COURT EXECUTIVE SERVICE CORE QUALIFICATIONS (CESCQ): All applicants must submit written statements. Benefits

This is not a federal position. The District of Columbia Courts is an independent agency of the District of Columbia Government and is not under the authority of the City Mayor or the D. C. Council. DC Courts' appropriation comes directly from Congress. All DC Courts non-judicial employees receive federal benefits for the following programs: Life Insurance, Retirement Benefits, Health Insurance and Workers Compensation. Please click on the following for more information about these benefits: http://www.opm.gov/Insure/health/enrollment/new_employees.asp The DC Courts leave policy is as follows: Annual Leave: Individuals occupying CES positions earn eight hours of annual leave each biweekly pay period, regardless of years of credited service and may carry over unused annual leave from year to year subject to a 480-hour ceiling. Sick Leave is used for personal medical needs, care of a family member, or adoption related purposes. Full-time employees earn four(4)hours of sick leave every two weeks. This leave can be accrued without limit. In addition to the federal health plans, the DC Courts offer employees supplemental vision and dental plans as well as commuter transit benefit subsidy, for a maximum of $150 a month. There are 26 pay periods in the year.
