Diesel Mechanic

• Hands‑on experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel system maintenance and repair.
• Minimum of 3 years of heavy‑duty truck or heavy equipment maintenance experience in a shop or military environment (preferred).
• Valid DOT Brake Certification.

Responsibilities:

• Perform basic to moderately complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, service, and repairs on mechanical, fuel, brake, suspension, hydraulic, cooling, and electrical systems for a wide range of trucks and heavy equipment.
• Complete routine preventive maintenance, including oil and filter changes, lubrication, tire service, brake work, and general inspections in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
• Patch and repair trailer and container side panels, floors, and roofs as needed.
• Manage, track, and maintain spare parts inventory to support ongoing maintenance operations.
• Coordinate with the Facility General Manager to schedule routine, preventive, and emergency repairs.
• Maintain accurate, detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Conduct and sign off on annual DOT inspections.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices, mechanical inspection tools, and supply management.
• Hands‑on experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel system maintenance and repair.
• Minimum of 3 years of heavy‑duty truck or heavy equipment maintenance experience in a shop or military environment (preferred).
• Valid DOT Brake Certification.
• Demonstrated technical understanding, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Effective verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with inventory control and maintaining accurate records.
• Must provide a basic set of hand tools.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively.
