The Diesel Technician Lead exists to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of every vehicle and piece of equipment supporting field operations in Geneva, NY. This leader does more than repair equipment they establish standards, elevate technicians, and protect uptime across the division.
This role combines hands-on mechanical expertise with frontline leadership. The right candidate takes ownership of fleet performance, mentors developing technicians, and ensures full regulatory compliance without compromise.
This maintenance team supports structured career growth across the following levels:
Technician Apprentice – Developing under senior guidance, focused on preventive maintenance and foundational skills
Technician B – Troubleshoots and resolves operating issues independently
Technician A – Performs advanced system-level repairs across mechanical and electrical platforms
Master Technician – Rebuilds engines, transmissions, and complex hydraulic/electrical systems

Must have served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Reserves, or U.S. National Guard.5+ years of experience in operations, production, or logistics leadership.Baseline Skills: Mechanical aptitude, ability to read schematics, understanding of diesel systems.
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 18 years of age
CDL Class B with air brake endorsement
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Minimum 1 year clean CDL driving experience
Legal authorization to work in the United States

The Lead Technician may perform or oversee inspection, troubleshooting, repair, rebuild, or replacement of:
Engines and engine components
Transmissions and drive lines
Brakes, suspension, steering systems
Hydraulics and PTO systems
Electrical, charging, and ignition systems
Cooling and fuel systems
HVAC systems
Tires, rims, hubs, and related assemblies
Master-level mechanical capability is strongly valued.
This position requires the ability to:
Lift heavy components regularly
Push, pull, crouch, climb, and stand for extended periods
Work in both garage/shop environments and outdoor weather conditions
