Role Overview


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Development Manager to lead several under construction real estate development projects in the multifamily space. The Development Manager will be instrumental in planning, coordinating, and executing projects and managing overall budget, schedule, and construction quality. 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide project management and construction oversight for 1-3 specific development projects ($100 MM+ total development cost).  
  • Oversee budgeting, cost management, cash flow projections, and monthly lender draw process.
  • Develop and manage master project schedules, including status reporting.
  • Manage the project general contractor on day to day basis, including schedule, budget, and quality matters.
  • Represent the owner in on-site weekly construction meetings and job walk throughs.
  • Manage the change order process.
  • Manage punch lists and ensure the delivery of complete project close-out packages.
  • Coordinate construction and turnover with operations teams.
  • Manage the entitlements process, including zoning, land use, and city agency approvals.
  • Review, control, and approve Construction Documents.
  • Direct in-house and third-party preconstruction, bidding, and value engineering efforts.
  • Oversee coordination with the architect, design consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project deliverables across design, marketing, branding, and construction.
  • Negotiate and administer contracts and proposals with third-party consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate the design and procurement of FF&E and OS&E, especially in a design-driven hospitality context.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years construction management experience either working for general contractor or owner/developer entity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering & Management, Architecture, other related fields or experience.)
  • In depth knowledge of architectural, structural, and MEP systems. Extensive construction/field experience and fully developed project management skills.
  • Exceptional communications skills – written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Real estate, hospitality or luxury residential experience a plus.
