The Development Analyst supports day‑to‑day fundraising operations at Lenoir‑Rhyne University under the direction of the Executive Director of Advancement Services. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining complex data queries and reports that support fundraising, communications, and stewardship activities. The analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and effective use of alumni and donor data, and serves as a trusted resource to development staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Partner with advancement and development staff to understand fundraising, communication, and reporting needs and translate those needs into accurate data outputs.
- Manage and fulfill a high volume of data requests, prioritizing work to meet deadlines and ensure consistent, reliable delivery.
- Create and maintain mailing, solicitation, event, and registration lists in support of fundraising and engagement initiatives.
- Design and maintain standard reports, dashboards, and analytical tools that support fundraising strategy and decision‑making.
- Proactively monitor, maintain, and improve data quality, including running maintenance queries and performing data cleanup and correction.
- Prepare and maintain clear documentation of procedures, definitions, and reporting standards.
- Protect the confidentiality and security of constituent and donor information at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of advancement operations.
Required Qualifications - Advanced proficiency with Excel and solid working knowledge of reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI.
- Strong analytical and logical problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work through detailed tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to data accuracy and consistency.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain data results to non‑technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines in a collaborative, service‑oriented environment.
- Demonstrated discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working with fundraising, advancement, or constituent data in a nonprofit or higher education environment preferred.
- Strong proficiency with a CRM or relational database; experience with Raiser’s Edge is strongly preferred.
Additional Requirements and Expectations- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
