Job Title: Design Release Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-starting Design Release Engineer to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative electrical module components that enhance customer safety. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills while providing technical direction over a product development team. You will be responsible for managing the technical project management and design release of a wireless charging system and other electronic modules.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain Interface Control Design (ICD) strategy and templates.
  • Develop and maintain commodity-specific documentation.
  • Generate and maintain global subsystem/component technical specifications templates (SSTS/CTS).
  • Lead resolution of technical issues and document progress.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with multiple suppliers.
  • Lead and manage supplier resident engineers.
  • Support sourcing activities and generate technical solutions.
  • Perform complex design analysis and initiate documents to maintain engineering authority.
  • Collaborate with engineering functions, suppliers, and plant personnel for product improvements.
  • Validate and integrate vehicle components.
  • Support build programs and ensure part deliveries.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science.
  • At least 2 years of automotive product experience, preferably with control modules/sensors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of microcontroller architectures, memory technologies, and programming.
  • Understanding of hardware design, failure modes, and vehicle serial data communications.
  • Ability to write and comprehend software/hardware requirements.
  • Knowledge of software verification/validation processes and testing tools.
  • Strong analytical ability to solve complex problems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Electronic validation experience.
  • Software and hardware controls experience.
  • Experience with automated driving sensors is a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing and vehicle launch.
  • Knowledge of Team Center Systems Engineering or IBM DOORS is a plus.
  • DFSS Certification.
  • Experience in safety-critical systems/components design and integration.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Warren, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
