Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Overview

The Mechanical Review Board Design Engineer will support an Air Dominance production team responsible for manufacturing critical missile system components. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring product quality and production readiness by identifying, analyzing, and resolving manufacturing issues, defects, and failures.

You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering—to develop and implement effective corrective actions, often in fast-paced and time-sensitive environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a core member of the Material Review Board (MRB), reviewing nonconforming hardware and assessing performance and producibility impacts
  • Identify root causes of defects and failures and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented to prevent recurrence
  • Coordinate efforts across Mechanical Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to drive issue resolution
  • Lead investigative efforts related to production issues and provide clear, timely status updates to cross-functional and leadership teams
  • Participate in and support weekly status review meetings with leadership
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5, including tolerance analysis
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using Creo design software
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, parts lists, and related technical documentation
  • Proven ability to lead investigative efforts and communicate findings effectively to interdisciplinary teams

This is a Contract position based out of Orlando, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $53.65 - $53.65/hr.
