We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile Manufacturing / Design Engineer to join our Custom Design Engineering Group in our new Engineer-to-Order (ETO) factory. This role is critical in supporting custom product design, prototyping, and production readiness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate across design, production, and quality teams.

What will you do:

  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Review and scrub BOMs for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability. Ensure alignment between design specifications and production requirements.
  • Prototype Development: Lead and assist in prototype builds, ensuring functionality and design integrity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and optimize designs.
  • Testing & Quality Support: Participate in product testing and validation activities. Provide technical assistance to the Quality Assurance team for inspections and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in design-to-manufacturing workflows. Support implementation of best practices for efficiency and quality.
  • Design & Documentation: Create and update detailed AutoCAD drawings and engineering documentation. Support design modifications for custom projects and ensure compliance with standards.

What will make you successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or custom design environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with other CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of BOM structures and ERP systems such as SAP
  • Hands-on experience with prototype assembly and testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of Engineer-to-Order (ETO) processes.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Proficiency with additional tools/software such as SAP, MS Office Suite, and PLM systems.

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $101,600.00- $152,400.00 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States.  Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level.  Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.  Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.
