Position Overview

This role is responsible for end-to-end tooling design and project management, partnering closely with experienced leadership, manufacturing teams, and customers. The position involves creating innovative tooling solutions, managing project execution from concept through production, and supporting quality and compliance requirements within an aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own start-to-finish tooling design and project management, with mentorship and guidance from experienced leadership.
  • Review and interpret customer requirements and specifications to develop complete tooling solutions.
  • Create fully detailed 3D tooling designs and 2D drawings using CATIA V5
  • (on-the-job and external training opportunities available).
  • Develop, release, and maintain 3D and 2D data packages for manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and shop-floor teams to support new project releases and resolve fabrication or assembly issues.
  • Review and modify customer-provided designs to improve material utilization, manufacturability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Select materials and manage subcontractor and vendor relationships, including preparation of purchase requisitions.
  • Lead and participate in customer design review meetings, provide project updates, and manage ongoing technical correspondence.
  • Support the Quality team by assisting with AS9100D documentation requirements, audits, and compliance activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Mechanical Engineering Technology
    • Plastics Engineering Technology
    • Manufacturing Engineering Technology
    • Or a closely related engineering discipline
  • Strong aptitude and interest in 3D modeling and creative static and/or mechanical design solutions.
  • Excellent blueprint and print-reading skills with strong mechanical visualization.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Capable of identifying concerns, gaining stakeholder cooperation, and solving problems efficiently.
  • Demonstrates strong time management, productivity, work ethic, and reliable attendance.
  • Communicates clearly, professionally, and effectively with manufacturing personnel, leadership, and customers.
  • Versatile and proactive team member willing to contribute across disciplines and support overall company success.

This is a Permanent position based out of Arkansas City, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
