What You’ll Do

Your experience matters here. Lateral deputies perform impactful, real-world law enforcement and public safety duties across multiple divisions, including:

• Intake, classification, and supervision of inmates
• Court security and bailiff services
• Civil process service and legal enforcement
• Inmate transportation and extraditions
• Community outreach and safety programs
• Electronic monitoring enforcement
• Emergency response and security operations

Assignments rotate through jail operations, court services, civil process, and specialized duties — giving you variety, skill growth, and career mobility.

Basic Requirements

• Age 21+ at time of hire
• U.S. citizen
• High school diploma or GED
• Current law enforcement, jailor, court security or civil processing certification (lateral transfer)
