MajorDuties

  • Provides authoritative advice and counsel to the Executive Director, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, and to other senior management officials throughout the Bureau on the full range of administrative, management, planning, and resource matters.
  • Performs security policy research and technical analyses. Reviews high-level Department policy and DS operational documents and provides expert opinions through the clearance process.
  • Directs civil service staffing and classification support; special programs, foreign service assessments and intake, Law Enforcement availability pay (LEAP); and law enforcement retirement calculations.
  • Provides leadership to address changing fiscal, statutory, and operational situations that address unexpected requirements and demands
  • Conducts comprehensive analyses of strategic and operational initiatives, and providing insight on policy constructs and subsequent implementation by leadership.

The evaluation process consists of the Monster Competency Based Assessments for which applicants will be assigned a score between 70 and 100.
