Overview

A Deepwater Measurement Technician is responsible for supporting the Deep Water Gulf of Mexico Measurement organization by ensuring accurate, reliable, and consistent measurements of physical quantities. This role involves working with a team of engineers and technicians, maintaining and calibrating various measurement equipment, and supporting operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Deep Water Gulf of Mexico Measurement organization by measuring physical quantities.
  • Follow equipment and task-specific procedures to perform job duties using safe work practices.
  • Maintain Differential Pressure flow transmitters by testing, calibrating, repairing, and replacing components as needed.
  • Maintain Temperature and Pressure transmitters by testing, calibrating, repairing, and replacing components as needed.
  • Maintain analytical equipment, such as Gas Chromatographs, Water Cut Monitors, and Moisture analyzers, by testing, calibrating, repairing, and replacing components as needed.
  • Maintain liquid flow meters by performing meter provings and repairing or replacing components as needed.
  • Maintain paperwork for calibrations and repairs completed.
  • Pull liquid and gas allocation samples from process lines.
  • Communicate equipment failures to the Measurement Specialist.
  • Follow governmental regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate activities to support Measurement and Operational needs of the facility/company.
  • Support Multiphase Meter Validation, data collection, equipment calibration, and sample collection.
  • Coordinate and witness LACT and Sales Gas P/L Meter calibrations.
  • Support the Measurement Specialist and Allocation department personnel with oil and gas allocation data, error identification, and equipment corrections.
  • Develop technical skills and increase knowledge through learning new equipment, taking on new tasks, and attending equipment-specific training.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or backelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience / training in Oil and Gas Allocation and Custody Transfer measurement systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for LACT meter proving, Sales Gas meter calibration, and Oil & Gas sampling for Custody Transfer.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for liquid and gas meter operation, calibration, and Oil & Gas sampling, for allocation.
  • Knowledge of single-phase metering by positive displacement, helical turbine, orifice, and v-cone, for oil and natural gas systems, troubleshooting and equipment testing procedures.
  • Ability to navigate and use Windows-based programs such as OMNICOM, PCCU32, Mon 2000.
  • Experience in the use of computers and a working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel and work on offshore locations, around heavy equipment, and in variable environmental conditions
