Day to Day job Duties:(what this person will do on a daily/weekly basis)

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Specialist with Healthcare domain expertise to support the design, development, and delivery of data-driven healthcare solutions. The role focuses on healthcare data acquisition, quality, transformation, governance, and usability to enable analytics, AI/ML, and intelligent healthcare applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Acquire, validate, and manage healthcare data from EHR/EMR, claims, labs, devices, and third-party sources.

- Ensure data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and integrity.

- Perform data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment.

- Transform healthcare data into analytics- and AI-ready formats.

- Collaborate with engineering, AI, and analytics teams.

- Support reporting, analytics, and data consumption use cases.

Healthcare Standards & Interoperability

- Work with healthcare data standards such as HL7 and FHIR.

- Apply coding systems including ICD-10, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED CT, and RxNorm.

- Ensure semantic consistency and interoperability across systems.

- Handle structured and semi-structured healthcare data formats.

Analytics & AI Enablement

- Prepare datasets for analytics, dashboards, and AI/ML models.

- Assist in feature engineering and data validation.

- Work with data scientists and AI engineers to define data requirements.

Data Governance, Privacy & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR (where applicable), and internal governance policies.

- Support data lineage, auditing, and access controls.

- Define and monitor data quality metrics.

Basic Qualifications: (what are the skills required to this job with minimum years of experience on each)

Required Skills & Experience

- 4+ years of experience working with healthcare data.

- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.

- Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data processing tools.

- Working knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages.

- Strong understanding of healthcare data structures and workflows.

Nice to Have;

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting AI/ML or advanced analytics initiatives.

- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

- Degree in Healthcare Informatics, Data Science, or a related field.

- Strong attention to detail and data quality mindset.

- Clear communication with technical and clinical stakeholders.

- Analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work in Agile, cross-functional teams.
