Overview

At Care Hospice, we believe data should drive better decisions, better care, and better outcomes. We’re looking for a hands-on Data & Integration Engineer to help build the data pipelines and system integrations that power our analytics, automation, and AI initiatives.

In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable data solutions, connect systems, and ensure the reliability of critical data across clinical, operational, and financial workflows. Location:This position is based out of our Charlottesville Support Center Office, located in the Dairy Market. This role offers a hybrid schedule, balancing occasionalon-site work with primarilyremote flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable data pipelines and models to support analytics, reporting, and operational workflows
  • Develop and maintain system integrations using APIs, file transfers, and other integration methods
  • Partner with analytics and business teams to deliver accurate, reliable data solutions and dashboards
  • Support automation and AI initiatives by ensuring strong data foundations and system connectivity
  • Monitor and maintain data quality, implementing testing and validation processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, integrations, and performance
  • Collaborate with application teams and vendors to understand data flows and system behavior
  • Contribute to system implementations, data migrations, and ongoing optimization efforts
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, systems integration, or related technical roles
  • Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Python
  • Experience building data pipelines in Snowflake and working with DBT or similar tools
  • Experience with APIs, file-based integrations, and modern data platforms
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau or similar
  • Ability to troubleshoot data quality, integration, and performance issues across systems
  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments preferred
  • Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, or other healthcare data standards is a plus
  • Strong skill set in prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and working independently
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information

$90,000 - $110,000 per year (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
