POSITION SUMMARY
This role is responsible for ensuring data accuracy across many different avenues for the Materials Management team. This role is critical in driving the data pipeline for the Purchasing & Planning organizations, assist with data entry, assuring data used is clean, aligned and ready within the ERP and connected systems, be able to see opportunities for improvement initiatives relevant to data management, and document and train on data processes.
Their goal is to create a “right the first time” data pipeline – eliminating downstream rework, holds or mismatched data causing delays in execution and reporting or incorrect signals. Other tasks as needed within Materials Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Buyer, Planner, and Scheduler KPI Governance
- Ensure KPI data is complete, accurate, and aligned across sites.
- Document issues impacting data quality and coordinating resolution with IT partners.
- Material Requirements Planning Data Governance & System Health
- Partner with the Materials Management team to optimize MRP logic, including testing and long‑term performance monitoring.
- Lead master data cleanup initiatives to improve system accuracy.
- Lead‑Time Management
- Maintain, monitor, and validate published lead‑times.
- Item Attribute Completeness & Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Track completeness and accuracy of item attributes.
- Coordinate reviews and corrections across multiple teams to ensure timely updates.
- Operational Management KPI Governance
- Ensure all sites use consistent logic and definitions when calculating key manufacturing KPIs.
- Document KPI discrepancies and lead efforts to standardize measurement and resolve issues.
- Customer Delivery Performance Metrics
- Govern internal process adherence and data accuracy to maintain global reporting integrity.
- Lead activities required to ensure compliance with global delivery-performance standards.
- Produce and manage reporting for global, regional, site, and customer‑specific delivery metrics.
- Enhancements & System Improvements
- Coordinate end‑user testing for Material Requirements Planning enhancements across sites.
- Assist in documenting business requirements and submitting tickets for system improvements.
- Work cross functionally with Purchasing, Planning, Materials Management, Procurement, Operations, Master Data Management, Engineering, IT and Quality groups to improve internal data quality.
- Work with Purchasing and Planning to understand current pain-point problems with current data processes and drive solutions to improve accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency.
- Lead necessary analyses and drive necessary automation developments directly and or with IT support, as needed.
- Reporting, analytics, and metric development when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a Supply Chain Management or related field; Business, Operations or similar field of study, and/or equivalent work experience can be in lieu of degree
- 1-3 years of experience in data governance or materials planning, or minimum of 2 years in supply chain or operations
- Engineering experience a plus
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
- Strong analytical skills and tool experience; including Excel, Minitab or Power BI
- Experience in PDSL, OTD, and other planning metrics
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to work within a matrix management environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively, with attention to accuracy and detail
- Highly organized and can multi-task, ability to handle high pressure situations
- Excellent problem-solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in complex, multi-site manufacturing or global supply chains
- Experience in thermal, power and/or infrastructure solutions product portfolios
- Strong understanding of SIOP processes and forecasting methodologies
- Project Management training or certification a plus
- Lean/Six Sigma certification or hands on process improvement experience
