Job Description:

Data Governance Framework & Data Quality

Define and establish data quality standards, rules, and monitoring controls across key retail domains (Customer, Product, Inventory, Location, downstream systems).

Embed data quality checks and controls within data pipelines, platforms, and applications in collaboration with Technology and Analytics teams.

Develop and track data quality KPIs and remediation processes.

Design and implement an enterprise-wide Data Governance framework.

Governance Policies & Standards

Develop and document enterprise data policies, standards, and guidelines (data definitions, metadata, lineage, classification, and usage rules).

Establish consistent governance controls across reporting, analytics, AI/ML models, and operational systems.

Align governance practices with regulatory, privacy, and information security requirements in collaboration with Legal and Compliance teams.

Data Roles & Operating Mode

Define and formalize Data Owner, Data Steward, and Data Custodian roles and responsibilities.

Establish decision rights and accountability framework for enterprise data assets.

Design and implement a sustainable data governance operating model to support innovation and scalability.

Enablement & Adoption

Develop governance playbooks, templates, and documentation to support adoption across business and technology teams.

Conduct stakeholder workshops and awareness sessions to promote data governance best practices.

Provide actionable guidance to technical and non-technical teams on data standards and policies.

Collaboration & Governance Oversight

Lead cross-functional governance forums and working groups.

Partner with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Business teams to align governance with business objectives.

Track governance maturity, risks, and progress, and provide periodic reporting to senior leadership.
