Responsibilities

The Data Engineer develops and maintains scalable, reliable data pipelines and systems that ensure data is organized, consistent, and accessible across the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of how data moves between systems and the ability to translate business needs into durable, well-structured data solutions. The Data Engineer integrates data from a variety of cloud and on-premise sources to ingest, combine, and harmonize data within a centralized data platform. They are responsible for bringing together and structuring data from multiple systems into well-organized, dependable datasets that support reporting, analysis, and operational needs at scale. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful problem solver who is comfortable working with complex data, building solutions that perform reliably over time, and collaborating with both technical and business teams.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and robust architectures

  • Partnering with visualization developers and downstream consumers to assemble and transform appropriately structured datasets (e.g., curated/raw layers to reporting-level views)

  • Writing and optimizing SQLqueries; identifying and analyzing data across multiple sourcesystems and database platforms

  • Developing and maintaining data models, ETL processes, and data structures

  • Understanding and documenting data flows, lineage, and dependencies across systems

  • Ensuring datasets include appropriate structure, documentation, and metadata to support emerging AI use cases.

  • Ensuring data quality through proactive validation, monitoring, and periodic review

  • Identifying opportunities to improve data processes, systems, and data sourcing



Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from an accredited University or College;

OR

Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from an accredited University or College with 2 years of experience.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and profile data to solve complex business problems using data modeling, databases, and data mining techniques required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills required, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver effective solutions.

Incumbent must have ability to manage a varied workload of projects with multiple priorities and stay current on healthcare trends and enterprise changes. Interpersonal skills and time management skills are required. Requires strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and recommend solutions, advanced computer application skills and a commitment to customer service. Experience with data analysis, quality, and profiling; including data exploration tools including but not limited to Rapid SQL, AQT, Information Analyzer, and Informatics.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including AI/ML or AI Factory–related work, strongly preferred. Proficiency in Python; experience with SAS and Linux preferred. . Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver effective solutions.

Schedule Details

M-F During normal business hours. This position will work remotely and on site at the FL, AZ, or RST campus. Business needs require employees to live a reasonable driving distance from campus.
