Data Center Support Technician
📍 Location: Hermiston, OR
🕒 Employment Type: 6-month contract, with potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position
About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Data Center Support Technician to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to maintaining and supporting critical data center operations, with a strong focus on troubleshooting hardware issues, supporting server environments, and ensuring system reliability.

What You’ll Do
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and infrastructure issues across servers, racks, and data center equipment
Perform server diagnostics, maintenance, and component replacements (drives, memory, power supplies, etc.)
Support data center operations, including installations, decommissions, and cable management
Monitor system health and respond to incidents and service requests in a timely manner
Collaborate with internal teams to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions
Document issues, resolutions, and procedures to improve team knowledge and efficiency
Assist with basic system administration tasks and infrastructure support
Follow operational procedures, safety standards, and escalation protocols
Contribute to a team-oriented environment by sharing knowledge and supporting peers
What We’re Looking For
Experience in data center operations, IT support, or hardware troubleshooting
Strong understanding of server hardware, components, and infrastructure systems
Basic to intermediate knowledge of system administration (Windows/Linux)
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
Familiarity with ticketing systems and incident management processes
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn, adapt, and receive feedback
Nice to Have
Experience working in a data center or enterprise IT environment
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, cabling, switches)
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; IT certifications are a plus.
2–4 years of related experience in IT or technical support preferred.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver effective solutions.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to perform under pressure.
Willing to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: $24.50 - $25.00
