Job Title: Data Center Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Architect to lead and support data center and industrial projects, with a strong emphasis on project management from design through construction administration. This role combines technical architectural production with ownership of schedules, consultant coordination, and day-to-day project execution. A demonstrated interest in mission-critical and data center facilities is essential, as the majority of current work supports these sectors. This position is ideal for an Architect who thrives in driving projects forward, coordinating teams, and staying engaged through construction to ensure successful delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects through all phases, focusing on CD coordination, permitting, and Construction Administration.
  • Track and manage project schedules, milestones, consultant deliverables, and issue resolution through project closeout.
  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for consultants and internal team members.
  • Support client communication, meeting coordination, and follow-up during design and construction.
  • Actively participate in the CA phase, including submittal and shop drawing review, RFI review and responses, and field observation documentation.
  • Coordinate with MEP consultants and contractors to resolve construction conflicts.
  • Assist with ASI and bulletin documentation.
  • Produce and coordinate base-building architectural documents in Revit.
  • Independently update CD sets with a strong understanding of constructability.
  • Assist with surveys, survey input, space planning, and test fits.
  • Support code compliance and ADA coordination.
  • Assist with area calculations and program validation.
  • Assemble complete drawing sets and issue packages at each project phase.
  • Provide light coordination with MEP consultants related to data center planning and infrastructure interfaces.
  • Coordinate architectural scope within mission-critical project environments.
  • Understand the importance of accuracy, redundancy, and coordination required for data center delivery.
  • Coordinate with architectural product representatives and maintain architectural resources.
  • Assist with presentations, renderings, colored elevations, and interview materials.
  • Attend select client meetings or interviews.

Essential Skills

  • Experience or strong interest in data center, mission-critical, or industrial projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit and construction document production.
  • Growing or established experience managing projects through CA.
  • Comfort with coordinating consultants and tracking issues during construction.
  • Interest in client-facing responsibilities and project ownership.
  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented approach to project delivery.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BS in architecture preferred.
  • Basic understanding of codes and ADA.
  • Client interfacing personality.
  • 5-10 years of experience.

Work Environment

The work environment is flexible, with the option to work in the office 1-2 days a week based on performance. The firm uses Vectorworks on a Mac platform, providing each employee with a MacBook Pro and iPad. The platform allows seamless file import and export, offering better hardware reliability. Employees receive 28 days of PTO to use as sick time, vacation time, and holiday time. The company culture is inviting, providing opportunities to work closely with the team on various projects.
