Cybersecurity Manager - Legal IT Systems (Remote)

Position Purpose:

The Cybersecurity Legal IT Systems Support Manager will own the tactical execution and product roadmaps for existing and future solutions in the Legal IT Systems Support portfolios. The candidate will be responsible for attracting, retaining, and developing teams who develop, maintain, and support users of internally facing customer focused legal technology. In addition, this Manager will be given the chance to work with our key vendors to ensure 3rd party solutions remain readily available to the business teams who rely on them. The Manager must exhibit the ability to lead their team, drive change management and process improvement in addition to partnering as needed with internal and external teams to guarantee successful implementations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mastery of a modern scripting language (preferably Python)

  • 2+ years of previous leadership experience

  • 5 years of relevant legal technology experience

  • Experience with technology implementation and automation and change management

  • Capable of understanding complicated systems quickly

  • Experience with supporting windows Desktop environments

  • Experienced with legal technologies

  • Experienced with cloud technologies

  • Knowledge of Legal business processes

  • Experience with end user technical support, including white glove level support

  • Experience with development, design, and maintenance of software products or systems to support client strategies

  • Experience with Agile project and software development

  • Experience with Third party technology configuration, administrative management, maintenance, and continuous improvement

  • Experience with identifying, tracking, and utilizing metrics to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of services

  • Experience with translating high level strategy to tactical execution

  • Effective communication and collaboration with peer and partner teams, legal teams, business teams, and senior leadership through written correspondence and verbal presentations

At The Home Depot, Cybersecurity consists of Architecture, Governance, Identity & Access Management, Internal Threat Operations, Issue and Compliance Management, Risk Assessment/Advisory, Security Consulting, Security Operations, Service Optimization and Strategic Planning.


Key Responsibilities:

  • 30% Delivery & Execution:

    • Collaborates and pairs with cybersecurity and legal teams to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions

    • Documents, reviews and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met

    • Writes custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases

    • Works with vendors and partners for the successful implementation of critical tooling and platforms

    • Creates meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to ensure that issues are captured and addressed proactively

    • Evaluates new technologies for adoption across the legal department

    10% Support & Enablement:

    • Fields questions from engineers, product teams, or support teams

    • Monitors tools and participates in conversations to encourage collaboration across the teams

    • Provides technical direction for software running in production

    • Acts as a technical escalation point for the engineers on the team

    50% People:

    • Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to cybersecurity engineers and analysts

    • Attracts, retains, and develops top talent to build a world class technology team

    • Conducts annual and mid-year reviews by reviewing individual development plans and team feedback

    • Fosters collaboration with team members to drive consistency, and finds opportunities to expose engineers to career interests

    • Acts as a proponent of modern software development practices

    • Guides team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks within and across the teams

    10% Learning:

    • Learns, through reading, tutorials, and videos, new technologies and best practices being used within other technology organizations

    • Builds relationships with technology leaders at other companies to learn best practices and elegant solutions to common problems


Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • This position typically reports to Sr. Manager or Director
  • This position has 6-10 Direct Reports


Travel Requirements:

  • No travel required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of previous leadership experience


Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
