Title: Principal System Security Engineer

Location: 1801 Hughes Dr, Fullerton, CA 92833

Duration: 6+ Months

Rate: $101/hr (W2)

Active Secret Clearance Required


Responsibilities

Engage with customers to define and clarify Systems Security Engineering (SSE) requirements, propose solutions, and assess system impacts

Develop project plans, cost estimates, task execution schedules, and risk mitigation strategies

Ensure adherence to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls

Consult with program management on SSE architecture and resolve technical security issues

Support bid and proposal development for new projects and contracts

Specify, implement, and test security controls for networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware/software components

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of relevant experience

Proven experience in System Security Engineering, computer technology reverse engineering, program protection, cybersecurity, or embedded security for DoD programs

Demonstrated ability to generate systems requirements, design architecture artifacts, and policy documentation

Hands-on experience designing, implementing, testing, and deploying real-time embedded security solutions

Proficiency in configuring and using Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Track record of successfully leading or managing technical teams

Preferred Skills

Security toolset expertise: anti-virus, vulnerability assessment, HIDS/NIDS, endpoint security, MFA, SIEM tools (Splunk preferred)

Scripting experience: Linux Bash or Python

Security systems engineering for various hardware/software and network configurations

DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-II Compliant Certification (Security+, CISSP, or equivalent)

Vulnerability analysis for operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies

IT/network security administration for UNIX, MS Windows, Red Hat Linux, or CISCO systems

In-depth knowledge of DoD and Federal IA Certification/Accreditation processes and documentation

Familiarity with Program Protection Plan (PPP) requirements

Experience supporting U.S. Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance Engineer SME
