Job Summary
A top hospital system and healthcare provider on the West Coast is seeking a Service Center Representative to support the Medicare and Special Projects team. This is a detail‑heavy, fast‑paced role that requires strong critical thinking, attention to detail, computer proficiency, and the ability to make independent decisions.
This position supports health plan enrollment through heavy data entry (approximately 80%) and outbound phone calls (approximately 20%).
Key Responsibilities
The Service Center Representative will support account maintenance, billing, reconciliation, reporting, and customer service related activities, including but not limited to:
- Perform high‑volume data entry to support health plan enrollment and member maintenance
- Maintain and update member records, including enrollments, corrections, retroactive adjustments, and terminations
- Identify, research, and reconcile billing and payment discrepancies to ensure accurate eligibility, revenue, and membership records
- Support eligibility inquiries and ensure billing accuracy and timely distribution
- Interact with purchaser benefit administrators to explain health plan policies and contractual provisions
- Resolve membership and billing‑related issues with internal teams, purchasers, and sales/service representatives
- Assist with sales process support and membership accounting issue resolution
- Resolve payment delinquencies and discrepancies
- Identify, code, batch, scan, and index documents into the imaging system
- Provide general office support (mail handling, filing, document retrieval, supply ordering, and copier maintenance)
- Work with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve support service issues
- Track productivity and customer service quality metrics
- Participate in team‑based projects and operational improvement initiatives
- Assist with training as required
- Coordinate and facilitate communication across departments and lines of business
- Participate in purchaser performance evaluations and target‑setting activities
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Onsite / Remote Details
- This role starts onsite for a minimum of 6 weeks of training
- After training, there is an opportunity to transition to fully remote work, pending performance
- Candidates must live within 1 hour of the 92108 zip code and be willing to commute onsite if equipment issues arise
- This is not a hybrid role, though full‑time onsite work is available if preferred
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT
- Breaks included
- No time off permitted during the 7‑week training period or during holidays
- Missing time during training or restricted periods may result in termination
Assessment Requirement
- All candidates must complete and pass a pre‑employment assessment
- High scores are required in Data Entry, Learning Potential, and Thoroughness
- Assessment duration: 50–75 minutes
