REPORTS TO: Row 7 PresidentLOCATION: Remote with up to 30% travel to retail partnersKEY RESPONSIBILITIESShopper Marketing Strategy & PlanningDevelop and own the annual customer marketing strategy, identifying key moments, accounts, and shopper audiences to prioritizeBuild retailer-specific marketing plans that ladder up to brand goals and align with each account's promotional and marketing calendarTranslate Row 7's brand positioning and product stories into compelling, shopper-relevant messaging for the retail environmentBring a shopper mindset to internal conversations, advocating for how and why the shopper makes decisions at the shelfRetail Marketing Programs & ActivationDevelop and manage retailer co-marketing programs, including digital and print media, in-store signage, seasonal campaigns, and brand momentsOwn the customer marketing budget and activation calendar, tracking spend against plan and reporting on program performanceManage the asset and approval process with retail partners, ensuring programs go live on time and on brandMeasure program effectiveness using available data (syndicated data, retailer POS, retail media metrics) and translate results into actionable learningsRetail Media & Digital ShelfLead Row 7's retail media strategy across key accounts and platforms (Instacart, retailer e-commerce, sponsored placements)Ensure Row 7's digital shelf presence (images, copy, and content) is accurate, optimized, and consistent across all retail accountsMonitor digital availability and surface content gaps or issues to the appropriate teamsBrand-to-Shelf Content & AssetsDevelop the full suite of shopper-facing materials in collaboration with sales team: shelf signage, packaging callouts, seasonal POS, and on-shelf storytelling Ensure brand creative is adapted appropriately for retail contexts without losing what makes Row 7 distinctiveBuild and maintain a library of current, on-brand retail assets that the sales team can deploy efficientlySales Partnership & Category StorytellingPartner with the sales team to build category and brand narratives that earn shelf space and marketing support from buyersDevelop compelling sell-in materials grounded in shopper data and brand strategy, including brand decks, new items presentations, and category storiesServe as the marketing voice in key account conversations, helping sales articulate Row 7's retail marketing visionSUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE3-5 years of experience in shopper marketing, customer marketing, or retail marketing in food or CPG; natural or specialty food experience strongly preferredA strong understanding of the grocery retail landscape and how shoppers engage with products in a produce or perishables environmentExperience developing retailer marketing programs and co-marketing activations with major grocery accounts Comfort using retail media metrics to inform strategy and tell compelling stories you don't need to be an analyst, but you know how to use dataExperience managing a marketing budget and measuring ROI on programsA strong creative eye and the ability to brief, guide, and evaluate marketing assets you know what good looks like on shelfStrong project management skillsProficiency in Google Sheets and PowerPoint; familiarity with Instacart Ads, retailer media platforms, or digital shelf tools is a plusGenuine enthusiasm for food, agriculture, and Row 7's missionDETAILSRetail Sales Manager position is a full-time, exempt role and reports to ROW 7s Sales DirectorThis position follows a remote or distributed work model within the United StatesTravel within the United States (30%).The target pay range for this role is from $90,000 - $105,000 per yearBenefits include:Generous Paid Time Off, Parental Leave, Volunteer Time Off, and Floating Holiday ProgramsUp to 77% funded Health, Dental, and Vision InsuranceHealth Flexible Spending Account (FSA)401(k) eligible after three months of employmentFlexible Educational Reimbursement ProgramEmployee Discount on Row 7 Seed ProductsRow 7 is committed to centering equity and justice in our work and community.
