A Custodian is expected to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner, and to strive for improvement and excellence in al l work performed. Primary Duties: • Keeping assigned building and property in clean and orderly condition • Performing routine maintenance and heavy cleaning activities • Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming floors • Gathering and emptying trash • Scrubbing, sanitizing, and supplying restroom facilities • Dustin g furniture, walls, and equipment • Cleaning windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers • Having physical stamina, attention to detail, and customer service skills • Work closely and assist the Director of Physical Plant with projects as assigned. Ability to lift and move heavy objects is required • Inform supervisor of deficiencies such as cracked windows, leaking faucets, defective plumbing valves, defective doors and locks, and any other unsafe condition. • Maintain an appropriate inventory of custodial supplies and materials as required to perform the assigned tasks. • Maintain all custodial equipment in such a way as to achieve the maximum life of each piece of equipment. • Abide by OSHA safety standards, and follow MSDS and other safety procedures as instructed by supervisor in the performance of duties. • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
