The Creative Director leads creative production within the Marketing team. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role translates global brand strategy and marketing priorities established by Marketing leadership into compelling, market-facing creative across digital channels. The position builds the production systems and infrastructure needed to bring Conn Selmer’s brands to life while driving awareness, engagement, and sales support.

Responsibilities:


Creative and Content Leadership

  • Translate brand strategy and marketing priorities into executable creative across social and digital platforms.
  • Oversee production of creative assets in collaboration with marketing leadership.
  • Ensure all creative is cohesive, on-brand, and aligned with marketing and communications objectives
  • Maintain creative quality standards across all marketing content, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.

Social Media and Digital Content

  • Lead execution of global social media (paid and organic), ensuring alignment with marketing and brand strategy.
  • Develop content and campaigns for product launches, events, artists, partnerships, and brand initiatives.
  • Oversee production of engaging short- and long-form video content optimized for digital platforms.
  • Provide leadership and responsiveness during time-sensitive social moments.
  • Partner with web development to ensure cohesive storytelling and digital presentation.

Video, Photography and Production

  • Lead product photography and videography across all brands.
  • Oversee video content creation supporting product launches, education and training initiatives, corporate communications, and artist, educator, dealer, and consumer storytelling.
  • Develop creative briefs, write scripts, direct shoots, manage logistics, and oversee projects from concept through execution.

Studio and Operational Excellence

  • Lead and develop a lean internal creative team, sourcing and managing freelance or external production support as needed within budget.
  • Establish scalable workflows, timelines, approval processes, and asset management standards.
  • Manage production budgets responsibly, maximizing impact within available resources.
  • Build production systems that enable speed, consistency, and quality across global brands.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Impact

  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to translate brand strategy into effective creative execution.
  • Collaborate with product marketing, merchandising, sales, and artist relations teams to deliver integrated content initiatives.
  • Track and report performance metrics to measure content effectiveness and inform future content development.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in creative production, content leadership, or digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience leading social media strategy, video production, and product photography.
  • Proven ability to translate brand strategy into compelling campaigns and content.
  • Excellent communicator and copywriter able to craft compelling scripts and content across digital platforms.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and vendor oversight experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale creative production systems in resource-conscious environments.
  • Excellent creative judgment, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience in music and band instruments preferred but not required.
  • Flexibility to support production schedules and events, including occasional evening or weekend work, with travel up to 15%.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including extended periods of sedentary work, standing during shoots or events, and occasional lifting or transporting equipment or materials.
