JOB SUMMARY:
The Corporate Communications Specialist strengthens the organization’s reputation by delivering modern, integrated communications across internal and external channels. This role develops high-quality written content, provides proactive earned media support, and collaborates closely with social media and integrated marketing teams to ensure messaging is aligned across platforms. This person also supports issues and crisis communications readiness and uses measurement, analytics, GenAI tools, and disciplined project management to enhance the speed, quality, and impact of communications. By unifying corporate messaging across media, social, digital, and campaign channels and maintaining preparedness for issues and crisis situations, the Specialist helps protect and elevate the organization’s credibility with members, partners, policymakers, employees, and the public.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Corporate Communications & Reputation Support
- Execute corporate communications initiatives that reinforce the institutional narrative and reputation.
- Draft clear, audience‑appropriate messaging aligned to organizational priorities and leadership voice.
- Maintain readiness materials and help coordinate rapid responses.
- Support issues and crisis scenarios, track emerging risks, and escalate appropriately.
Proactive Earned Media & Media Relations
- Draft press releases, media pitches, talking points, statements, and backgrounders.
- Support proactive media outreach and media list management; monitor coverage opportunities.
- Contribute to responsive media coordination, including Q&A, clarifications, and follow‑ups.
Internal & Executive Communications
- Draft internal announcements, leadership messages, staff updates, and executive remarks.
- Prepare briefing materials and message frameworks to support executive visibility and alignment.
- Maintain internal and external communications-related web content.
Team Collaboration
- Partner with the content creator and social media teams to translate corporate messaging into channel‑appropriate content.
- Collaborate with integrated marketing to align communications with campaigns and brand strategy.
- Contribute messaging and content to ensure cohesive audience journeys across channels.
Measurement, Analytics & Reporting
- Track KPIs such as reach, engagement, sentiment, and media outcomes.
- Prepare concise reporting for leadership with data‑driven recommendations.
Project Management & Workflow Execution
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines with disciplined planning.
- Use project management platforms such as Asana to coordinate timelines and approvals.
- Maintain organized documentation and ensure high‑quality delivery.
GenAI Tools & Emerging Technologies
- Use GenAI platforms to support drafting, ideation, and efficiencies.
- Ensure AI‑generated content meets accuracy, tone, and brand standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Special Skills:
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear messages.
- Proficiency in media relations fundamentals and reputation‑focused messaging.
- Strong project management skills; fluency with Asana or similar platforms.
- Working knowledge of GenAI tools and content quality controls.
- Digital communications fluency in social, LLMs and application multimedia.
- Ability to analyze communications data and report insights using platforms such as Sprout Social, Meltwater, Muck Rack, etc.
- Collaborative, detail‑oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields.
Licensure or Certification:
Experience:
- 3 – 5 years' experience in corporate communications, digital marketing and/or public relations.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

- This role involves prolonged sitting, repetitive computer use, and screen time.
- Ability to operate office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

- Regular office environment.
- This is a hybrid position requiring physical presence in the office for a minimum of two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday).
