Job Summary
High-impact role supporting a multi-entity, private equity-backed platform with direct exposure to senior leadership.
This role will have direct exposure to senior leadership and play a key role in supporting consolidated reporting, strategic analysis, and stakeholder communication. The Corporate Accountant will operate as a key contributor within the corporate accounting function, supporting consolidated reporting, technical accounting areas, and process improvement initiatives within a private equity-backed, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities – Corporate Accounting & Consolidations
- Prepare and maintain consolidated financial reporting workbooks across multiple entities
- Manage and analyze foreign currency (FX) activity, including translation and remeasurement impacts
- Own and maintain key corporate accounting areas, including retained earnings, cash flow statement preparation, and intercompany transactions and eliminations
- Assist with upstream and downstream reporting, including internal reporting to leadership and external reporting to stakeholders, lenders, and advisors
- Support audit and diligence processes (audit, QofE, etc.), including preparation of schedules and responses
Key Responsibilities – Core Accounting & Close
- Support and drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment between operational activity and financial reporting
- Provide support for internal and external audits, including documentation and walkthroughs
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
Fixed Asset Accounting
- Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including capitalization, transfers, retirements, impairments, and disposals
- Ensure assets are capitalized in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP
- Calculate and record monthly depreciation and amortization
- Perform fixed asset reconciliations between the subledger and general ledger
- Support annual fixed asset physical inventory and audit requests
- Analyze capital expenditures and ensure proper classification between CapEx and OpEx
Lease Accounting (ASC 842)
- Administer operating and finance leases, including initial recognition and ongoing measurement
- Prepare and review journal entries related to lease activity
- Maintain lease accounting schedules including amortization and interest calculations
- Reconcile lease subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis
- Support lease disclosures for financial statements
- Partner with legal, procurement, and real estate teams to identify lease activity
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes
- Assist with system implementations or enhancements
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of public accounting experience (audit-focused preferred)
- 2+ years of private industry experience
- Experience with consolidations and multi-entity environments
- Experience with foreign currency / FX accounting
- Hands on experience with ASC 842 – Lease Accounting
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills (ability to manage and build complex workbooks)
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA-eligible
- Experience with NetSuite (ERP) and lease accounting software such as Trullion
- Prior experience working in a private equity-backed or high-growth, multi-entity environment
