Design, program, integrate, and debug automation control systems for custom friction welding machinery and related equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and support control systems for custom friction welding machines
- Program PLCs using structured text and function block programming
- Develop HMI screens and operator interfaces
- Perform machine debugging for custom automation equipment
- Integrate automation systems with robotics, vision systems, and barcode scanners
- Design and support control safety systems
- Create and review electrical schematics
- Support panel design for machinery control systems
- Work on multiple automation projects at the same time
- Coordinate controls work with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, process engineers, and designers
- Support long-term custom machinery projects from design through implementation
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of controls engineering, automation, or related experience
- Allen-Bradley PLC experience or Siemens PLC experience
- Machine debugging experience
- Automation integration experience
- Robotics integration experience
- Vision system integration experience
- Barcode scanner integration experience
- Control safety systems experience
- Schematic design experience
- Panel design experience
- PLC programming experience using structured text or function block programming
- HMI design experience
Preferred Skills
- FactoryTalk experience
- Studio 5000 View Designer experience
- WinCC experience
