Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations – including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and cash management – to ensure smooth financial workflows.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes (e.g., account reconciliations, journal entries) to deliver timely, accurate financial statements.
- Maintain a clean and accurate balance sheet through diligent oversight of accounts and reconciliations.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies, GAAP standards, and regulatory requirements; implement improvements to uphold strong financial controls.
- Serve as the internal expert on the CMiC ERP system, leveraging its capabilities to streamline financial and project accounting processes.
- Supervise and mentor a small accounting team (2 Accounting Administrators and 1 Staff Accountant), fostering collaboration, development, and high performance.
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring all financial records are prepared and audits are completed successfully.
- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures to standardize processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide financial insights during project reviews, working closely with project managers to analyze costs, margins, and overall project performance.
- Oversee cash flow planning and short-term forecasting to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in the construction industry or a similar project-based environment, with a strong understanding of job cost accounting.
- Proficiency with enterprise-level accounting/ERP systems (experience with CMiC is a strong plus).
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Benefits
Strong compensation package - Salary $120,000 to $135,000 plus 15% target bonus
