  • This is a long-term contract, with an initial term of 12 months, with high probability for extention
  • Pay rate is $35-38.50 /hr W2
  • Hybrid position, onsite 3 days/wk and remote 2 days/wk in Louisville, KY
  • This position is contract heavy and not a buyer
  • Seeking candidates with 2+ years of experience with tracking changes, red lining, and negotiating contracts

Position Overview

This role is focused heavily on contract management and negotiation rather than traditional purchasing/buying. The position is responsible for managing supply chain activities and issuing contractual commitments up to $100 million annually across a wide range of corporate needs, including construction services, engineered equipment, software, and professional services.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in contract redlining, negotiation, and understanding complex contractual language, with the ability to work independently and support high-value, strategic sourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiation strategy and execution for complex, multi-million-dollar contracts in partnership with legal counsel
  • Manage full lifecycle of supply chain activities, from requirements definition through contract administration and closeout
  • Conduct market, financial, and risk analysis to inform sourcing decisions and mitigate supplier risk
  • Draft, review, and redline contracts using Microsoft Office tools, ensuring appropriate commercial protections
  • Analyze and resolve claims and disputes in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring performance, quality, and cost objectives are met
  • Support capital and IT-related projects by developing contracting strategies and managing vendor performance
  • Act as category expert, maintaining knowledge of suppliers, market trends, and emerging technologies
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost-efficiency initiatives across the supply chain
  • Serve as primary liaison between internal stakeholders and suppliers

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, sourcing, or services procurement
  • Demonstrated experience with contract negotiation and redlining (required)
  • Strong understanding of commercial terms, business law, and contract language
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly track changes and document redlining
  • Ability to interpret and negotiate complex contractual agreements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience negotiating IT or technology-related contracts
  • Supply chain certification (C.P.M., CPSM, or similar)
  • Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
