Contract & Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Procurement) | Allied Resources Technical Consultants
About the Position
Allied Resources Technical Consultants (ARTC) is seeking a Contract & Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Procurement) to support enterprise‑level procurement and contract management activities for a large utility‑focused client. This role is not a traditional buyer position and is best suited for a professional with a strong foundation in contract strategy, negotiation, and supplier performance management.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute negotiation strategies for complex, high‑value contracts, collaborating with legal partners to ensure appropriate commercial protections.
- Lead and support contract negotiations to achieve optimal cost, risk mitigation, and business outcomes.
- Conduct market, price, and financial analysis to assess supplier risk and overall value.
- Support resolution of claims and disputes by developing positions and partnering with senior stakeholders.
- Manage the end‑to‑end supply chain process from requirement definition through contract administration and closeout.
- Evaluate suppliers and determine optimal pricing structures, warranties, and performance requirements.
- Select and apply the most effective supply chain and contracting models to maximize value and savings.
- Identify new suppliers, products, services, and emerging technologies that support business objectives.
- Serve as the primary supplier liaison for assigned categories, maintaining ethical and professional partnerships.
- Support complex capital and technology initiatives (software, SaaS, hardware, and services) by developing contracting strategies and managing supplier performance.
- Act as a subject matter expert for assigned categories, maintaining knowledge of market drivers, supplier landscapes, spend data, inventory, and performance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
- OR equivalent professional experience (5+ years)
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or services contracting
- Hands‑on experience with contract redlining and negotiation
- Strong understanding of commercial terms, contract language, and basic business law
- Experience negotiating service‑based and/or IT‑related agreements preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including document comparison and tracked changes
Preferred Qualifications
- Supply chain or procurement certification (CPM, CPSM, or similar)
- Background in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects simultaneously
- Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to build trust across internal teams and external partners
