General Description

We’re growing fast and looking for a creative, curious Content Creator Intern to spend the summer with us. This is a hands-on learning role. Your primary focus will be working with the Marketing Team to create content for our social channels — filming, editing, and publishing work that tells our story and connects with our audience. Along the way, you’ll get mentorship from our Marketing Manager, face time with senior leadership, and real exposure to how a growing brand builds its voice.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities

Your Primary Focus: Content Creation

  • Create original social content (video, graphics, and written posts) for TikTok and Instagram, with guidance from the Marketing Manager
  • Film and edit short-form video content, including behind-the-scenes moments, recipes, and product storytelling
  • Work alongside the CEO to capture personality-driven content that showcases the founder’s voice and the brand’s story
  • Help maintain the editorial calendar by preparing and scheduling content on time
  • Organize and maintain the brand’s content library so assets are easy to find and reuse

Learning & Exposure Opportunities

In addition to content creation, you’ll get hands-on exposure to other areas of marketing under the guidance of your manager:

  • Assist with influencer research — help identify creators and brands that align with our values, and support outreach and product gifting coordination
  • Learn the basics of social analytics by tracking post performance and sharing weekly observations on what’s working
  • Contribute to blog or Substack drafts on a weekly or biweekly basis
  • Stay curious about platform trends, sounds, and formats on TikTok and Instagram, and bring ideas to the team

Mentorship & Development

  • Report directly to the Marketing Manager for day-to-day feedback, creative direction, and professional development
  • Get regular face time with the President on brand initiatives
  • Participate in strategy conversations with senior leadership to understand how brand, marketing, and business decisions connect
  • Leave with a portfolio of published work, practical experience in brand storytelling, and a clearer sense of where you want to go next

Qualifications and Experience

  • Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field is a plus, but we care more about your portfolio than your major
  • Strong Communication and Organizational Skills for effective collaboration and task management
  • A sample of content you’ve created (personal, school, or client work all count)
  • Comfort with learning how to use tools like Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalents
  • Genuine interest in social media as a craft: you follow trends and read newsletters
  • Can reliably commute to San Leandro and Oakland for the summer

Nice to Have:

  • Experience growing a personal or brand social account
  • Basic photo and video shooting skills
  • Passion for food-focused storytelling
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, TikTok Analytics, etc.)

What We Provide

  • Adobe editing software for the duration of the internship
  • Monthly stipend for use of personal device for filming and editing
  • A team that wants to teach you, not just task you

Schedule

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
  • This is a paid internship
