What you’ll do:

As a Construction Supervisor, you’ll lead the coordination of on-site volunteers, tools, and equipment necessary to construct assigned Habitat for Humanity-Spokane homes. This role places a strong emphasis on framing expertise, as the successful candidate will guide the structural construction of homes, ensuring high-quality builds in accordance with Habitat standards and local building codes. You will leverage both volunteer and professional labor to meet construction schedules, maintain safety, and deliver excellent craftsmanship. This role reports to the Construction Superintendent.

We are seeking a candidate with deep framing and residential construction experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage projects efficiently in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the framing and structural construction of Habitat homes, ensuring work meets safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare sites for volunteer work each day, including welcoming volunteers and subcontractors, conducting safety orientations, and setting expectations.
  • Assign tasks and supervise volunteers, ensuring adherence to safety and construction standards.
  • Manage and maintain construction schedules, proactively communicating updates and adjusting timelines as needed.
  • Coordinate all on-site activities, including subcontractors, inspections, and material deliveries.
  • Review plans, specifications, and construction documents to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and structurally sound execution.
  • Determine material needs and coordinate procurement with the Construction Superintendent or Chief Operations Officer.
  • Meet inspectors and subcontractors on-site, performing required changes before the next phase of construction.
  • Anticipate challenges and adjust plans proactively to maintain project momentum and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain Habitat-owned tools and equipment, ensuring they are properly inventoried, maintained, and secured daily.
  • Oversee overall site security, ensuring sheds, homes, job shacks, and vehicles are secured, and job sites are clean and organized.
Who you are:
  • 10+ years of framing experience in residential construction.
  • Experience managing projects at the contractor or subcontractor level.
  • Ability to lead and engage volunteers in a mission-driven/nonprofit environment.
  • Strong scheduling, planning, and project management skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to pivot in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a culture of respect and belonging for individuals of all identities and backgrounds.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience managing multi-home developments (5–10 homes).
  • Proficiency with Excel and scheduling tools.
  • Experience with Bluebeam and electronic plan review.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • Knowledge of fall protection and scaffolding safety practices.
  • Experience as a framing lead or subject matter expert (layout, material ordering).
  • Finish carpentry experience (cabinets, countertops, trim).
  • Painting experience a plus.

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable disclosure requirements. Base Pay Range: $27.00 – $33.00 per hour. Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, location, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operational business needs.
