Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Construction Safety Superintendent based in the Austin, TX area. This position is responsible for leading and enforcing safety across active construction operations on a wastewater treatment plant expansion project.
The Safety Superintendent will work directly with project leadership, superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain safe, efficient operations in a high-risk environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily field safety efforts across all active scopes of work
• Conduct jobsite audits, inspections, and real-time hazard identification
• Oversee high-risk activities including:
• Excavation and trenching
• Confined space entry
• Process-related and utility work
• Enforce OSHA and client-specific safety requirements
• Integrate safety into ongoing operations while supporting production and schedule
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
• Conduct safety meetings, orientations, and field coaching with crews and supervisors
• Coordinate closely with project management to maintain alignment between safety and project execution

Qualifications
Required:
• OSHA 30 Certification
• 5+ years of construction safety experience
• 3+ years in a leadership role (Lead, Supervisor, or Superintendent level)
• Demonstrated experience with:
• Excavation and trenching operations
• Confined space entry
• Strong field presence and ability to make real-time decisions
Preferred:
• OSHA 500 or 510
• CHST, CSHO, or similar certifications
• Experience working on:
• Wastewater treatment plants
• Industrial or process facilities
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
