Construction Manager – FTTH


Position Summary

Essentia Infrastructure is seeking a high-performing Construction Manager to lead Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) construction projects across multiple markets.

This role is responsible for overseeing field operations including safety, schedule adherence, production performance, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and client satisfaction. The Construction Manager works closely with Project Management, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with schedule and budget expectations.

This is a field-focused leadership role emphasizing operational execution, team development, and project delivery while supporting project financial goals.


Key Responsibilities


1. Project Oversight & Execution

  • Lead FTTH construction activities from mobilization through project completion
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers and internal teams to support project delivery
  • Provide input on schedules, budgets, and construction planning
  • Track production progress and report impacts to project milestones
  • Support quantity documentation to ensure accurate billing
  • Identify and communicate scope changes to project leadership


2. Production & Schedule Management

  • Establish weekly production goals for internal crews and subcontractors
  • Monitor production metrics such as units installed per day and construction progress
  • Track schedule performance and escalate potential delays
  • Assist with recovery plans for at-risk schedules
  • Coordinate labor resources across projects
  • Promote efficient construction practices to minimize rework


3. Subcontractor & Team Coordination

  • Oversee subcontractor crews and monitor performance relative to safety, quality, and productivity expectations
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to field teams
  • Communicate project standards and expectations to all field personnel
  • Support resolution of field issues impacting production and schedule
  • Promote accountability and teamwork across crews and subcontractors


4. FTTH Construction Operations

  • Oversee aerial and underground OSP construction
  • Ensure compliance with permits, ROW requirements, and local regulations
  • Support inspection and quality control processes
  • Monitor restoration activities and ensure proper site conditions
  • Ensure accurate field redlines and as-built documentation
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Logistics, and Project Controls teams


5. Safety Leadership

  • Promote a strong safety culture across all construction activities
  • Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
  • Monitor incident reporting and implement corrective actions
  • Support safety training initiatives for field teams


6. Reporting & Communication

  • Provide weekly construction progress updates to project leadership
  • Track production performance and field activity reports
  • Communicate operational risks early
  • Maintain consistent communication with internal teams and clients
  • Support project reporting and documentation requirements


7. Team Leadership

  • Supervise Foremen, field crews, and subcontractor teams
  • Promote accountability for safety, quality, and productivity
  • Support hiring and development of field personnel
  • Encourage continuous improvement and operational discipline
  • Foster a positive and collaborative field environment


Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Telecommunications Construction experience
  • Experience supporting FTTH or large-scale OSP fiber deployments
  • Strong understanding of aerial and underground fiber construction
  • Experience coordinating field crews and subcontractors
  • Familiarity with telecom construction standards and permitting processes
  • Experience using construction management and scheduling tools
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent construction activities
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
