Trueline's client, a growing commercial roofing contractor with multi-state operations, is seeking a Lead Commercial Roofing Estimator to join their team in San Marcos, TX. This is an in-office opportunity for a senior estimator who can lead accurate bid development, support preconstruction strategy, and help grow a junior estimating team.

What You'll Do as the Lead Commercial Roofing Estimator:

  • Prepare detailed commercial roofing estimates from plans, specs, and bid documents
  • Complete takeoffs for TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, metal, coatings, restoration, flat roof, and steep slope systems
  • Build clear scopes, pricing assumptions, exclusions, and Schedules of Values
  • Identify scope gaps, risks, alternate approaches, and value engineering opportunities
  • Support change order pricing and project recovery when needed
  • Partner with ownership, operations, project managers, and clients throughout the bid process
  • Help coach and develop junior estimators over time

Must-Haves as the Lead Commercial Roofing Estimator:

  • 5+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation methods
  • Experience estimating commercial or industrial new construction roofing work
  • Ability to manage multiple bids, deadlines, and priorities at once
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset and ownership mentality

Nice-to-Haves as the Lead Commercial Roofing Estimator:

  • QuickBid experience
  • Experience mentoring junior estimators
  • Background with both flat and steep slope commercial applications
  • Experience supporting change orders, SOVs, and project handoff
