Job Title: Concrete Project Manager

Job Description

As a Sr Concrete Project Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact with clients and oversee all aspects of concrete projects, including financial management, change management, scheduling, conflict resolution, and contractor relations. You will manage the preconstruction and construction phases, assist in developing project procurement documents, and oversee cost/change management processes. Additionally, you will coordinate with design teams, allocate project resources, execute contractual risk protections, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, overseeing all project aspects.
  • Manage the Preconstruction and Construction phases of assigned projects.
  • Assist in developing project procurement documents for various delivery methods.
  • Oversee the cost/change management process from start to finish.
  • Ensure proper service delivery by comparing client needs to contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate design packages with schedules for estimating, bidding, and construction.
  • Allocate and adjust project resources based on demands.
  • Execute Builder’s Risk Insurance approach for projects.
  • Emphasize and model safety as a top priority on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Partner with governing authorities for inspections and approvals.
  • Establish work and authority scopes for project team members and trade contractors.
  • Manage conflict and disputes focusing on mutually acceptable solutions.
  • Promote knowledge base and leadership skills among project team members.
  • Provide motivational and constructive feedback to team members.
  • Provide on-site leadership and build motivation among team members.
  • Set and manage project expectations while managing deliverables.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Ten or more years of work experience in construction or a related field.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related fields preferred.
  • OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 training preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure.
  • Strong computer knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction project management software.
  • Experience managing large commercial concrete projects.
  • Relevant experience in tilt-up, mass concrete, and structural concrete.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily outdoors at construction sites and in an office trailer. The job involves exposure to sounds and loud noises from construction equipment and requires wearing protective equipment such as hardhats, safety glasses, and high visibility clothing. Conditions may vary with weather and seasons. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Reliable transportation is necessary as travel to and from the construction site is required, with some long-distance and overnight travel possible.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
