Helps to ensure safe food service standards are maintained within Department concession areas; checks to see that all health standards are met and maintained.
Helps to maintain a perpetual inventory of concession items to maximize sales during events; receives and stocks necessary concession items.
Assists with the supervision of food service, concessions operations, and seasonal staff in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor.
Assists with the training of seasonal/temporary food service and concession personnel.
Assists with the ordering, purchasing, receiving and storage of food, materials and equipment; secures appropriate supplies and equipment when needed.
Proposes and publishes menus to highlight and advertise inventory and specials for various food items and special events.
Assists the Food Service Supervisor with evaluation of cost-to-revenue ratios to help with the management of concession-stand inventory and to maximize stand availability for sales.
Assists with the operation of concession areas in parks, prepares food, serves customers, and performs minor repairs.
Assists in the coordination of special events by assisting with the setup and breakdown for Department and City events.
Provides assistance in the operation of the City’s swan boat operations at Oviedo on the Park; communicates boat and water safety rules to customers and ensures adherence to safety rules; check-in customers and collect signed waivers.
Provides embarkment and dismemberment assistance on floating dock for customers entering and exiting the swan boats.
Responsible for minor upkeep and inspection of floating dock and swan boats and report identified issues to Food Services Supervisor.
Monitor weather and shut down operations in accordance with departmental policy for severe weather.
May be required to use boat to assist customers having difficulty returning to the dock.
Reports incidents and problems to Food Service Supervisor as required.
Maintains appropriate files and records.
Performs related tasks as required.
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent. Requires one year of concession or restaurant operations experience or closely-related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the ability to obtain a ServSafe Food Manager Certificate within (90) ninety days of employment. Requires a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain a Florida driver’s license within 30 days of employment and maintain the valid Florida driver license and acceptable driving record thereafter).
