As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk. Corporate Risk roles depend on a variety of skills, including: Data analysis and synthesis, root cause analysis, change management, process management & execution, risk governance, risk strategy, risk identification & assessment, risk prevention, controls & mitigation, risk monitoring, reporting & escalation, risk systems & technology.

Horizontal Aligned and Enterprise Functions Compliance (HA&EFC) is responsible for overseeing compliance risk management across 10 Enterprise Functions: Finance, Chief Operating Office, Human Resources, Public Affairs, Corporate Risk, Wells Fargo Technology, Strategy, Digital and Innovation, Diverse Segments, Representation and Inclusion, Legal and Audit. In addition, the group oversees regulatory requirements aligned to other Risk functions as well as a number of regulations and compliance programs that cross multiple lines of business.

The HA&EFC Program & Governance function is responsible for facilitating and coordinating the implementation and consistent execution and reporting of the enterprise-wide compliance risk management activities in accordance with the Wells Fargo Compliance Program Policy across Enterprise Functions.

Candidate will directly support the Head of HA&EFC Program & Governance in managing end-to-end compliance program requirements in collaboration with Enterprise Functions Business Aligned Compliance teams, Compliance Program Strategy, Planning & Governance, and other key Enterprise Risk Program owners.  Candidate will manage various Compliance Plan initiatives, enterprise risk initiatives and related enterprise risk assessments, and ensure end-to-end connectivity across Risk Programs.

Specific duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
• Partner with Program Element Owners across Compliance Program Strategy, Planning & Governance to develop new and/or continuously enhance existing processes aligned to Compliance Program requirements. 
• Coordinate and facilitate timely and consistent execution of Compliance Program requirements and deliverables across Enterprise Functions Business Aligned Compliance teams.
• Partner with Compliance Program Strategy, Planning & Governance on implementation efforts to integrate Compliance with Business Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Operational Risk Programs.
• Facilitate coordination and execution across HA&EFC on various Enterprise Risk Programs and Assessments (e.g., Enterprise Risk Identification and Assessment (ERIA), RCSA, Risk Management Effectiveness, Operational Risk Measurement Program, etc.) in terms of Compliance review and challenge processes.
• Work closely with Compliance Program Strategy, Planning & Governance and other Enterprise Risk Program owners to evaluate technology needs and identify technology solutions to support target state.
• Work with key stakeholders to manage enhancement and Compliance Plan remediation initiatives, including formulating project plans and timelines, facilitating working sessions, reporting on progress, and driving execution.
• Build strong partnerships and collaborate effectively with business, enterprise function, and Compliance partners.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management
