The Compliance Specialist is a six-month contract role. This position supports compliance with tax abatement agreements, regulatory reporting requirements, and internal control standards across a renewable energy portfolio. The analyst ensures accurate, timely preparation and submission of required documentation while collaborating cross-functionally to maintain financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit compliance documentation for tax abatement agreements and EIA reporting with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Coordinate with site operations, HR, and legal teams to obtain required supporting documentation.
- Perform operational SOX testing and assist with fixed asset and inventory assessments.
- Track abatement terms, deadlines, and requirements to ensure timely filings.
- Confirm all submissions meet applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards and deadlines.
- Maintain organized records of submitted documentation and correspondence.
- Monitor filing status and update submission logs.
- Serve as primary contact for routine tax authority inquiries regarding filed documents.
- Support audit processes by retrieving and organizing historical records.
- Perform additional compliance and accounting tasks as assigned.
