Overview: The Instructor/faculty shall be responsible to the lead instructor of the course and Dean of Health Sciences for State Fair Community College.

The online adjunct instructor shall be responsible for:

1. Online instruction and evaluation of students enrolled in the Community Health Worker non-credit course

2. Maintaining educational competencies in the area of instructional responsibilities.

3. Maintaining student records per institutional policies.

4. Ensuring confidentiality of student records.

5. Maintaining educational competence in the area of instructional responsibilities.

Adjunct faculty are not required to maintain office hours but are still expected to be available as needed.

Essential Duties:

Primary responsibilities include:-

· The person in this position will be responsible for duties related to teaching as an adjunct faculty member.

· Provide appropriate instructional experiences following the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services approved Community Health Worker approved curriculum to meet the objectives of the course.

· Demonstrate knowledge of course content.

· Work with community partners, such as health systems, associations, school districts, housing developments, and faith-based communities for individuals to conduct service-learning hours.

· Provide lead instructor student and course data to be reported to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services

· Give timely feedback to students on assignments, quizzes, and projects.

· Clearly communicate coursework expectations to students.

· Respond via email and phone throughout the week to answer student questions regarding online content

· Assist students with accessing appropriate college resources when needed.

· Collaborate with the lead instructor regarding student issues.

· Counsel students on academic performance, professionalism or other concerns as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

· Completion of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Servies Train the Trainer program or meeting the grandfathering requirements set forth by the Department

· Minimum of bachelor’s degree in community health, public health, social work, nursing, or related field

Skills: Have a working knowledge of computers as a medium to manage and improve instruction. Ability to interact with a broad range of people both on and off campus in a positive manner. Show evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills. Possess an understanding of the range of needs community college students represent. Possess a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college. Willingness to improve instruction through professional development including pedagogy and technology. Preference given to those with previous community college experience and those whom are in state residents.

Experience:
· A minimum of two (2) years of community health experience

· Online teaching experience preferred
