There is currently one full time, tenure-track position at Moorpark College that will begin during the Fall 2026 semester.
The initial focus of this assignment will be in Forensic Coaching. Responsibilities include assisting with the recruitment of team members, coaching a variety of events, as well as tournament travel including transporting students and judging at tournaments.The Moorpark College Forensics Teamis a full-service program competing in Parliamentary Debate, IPDA Debate, NFA LD, individual events, and Reader's Theatre.
Moorpark Collegeis seeking a Full Time Tenure Track faculty member in Communication Studies. The Communication Studies discipline at Moorpark College is a robust equity-focused program with over 500 majors, offering an Associate’s Degree, a Certificate in Organizational Communication, and more than twenty diverse courses, as well as a championship Forensics team. Primary teaching responsibilities for all discipline faculty include teaching basic Public Speaking courses. Additional courses may include Argumentation and Debate, Interpersonal Communication, Intercultural Communication, Gender Communication, Rhetorical Criticism, Rhetoric of Popular Culture, Health Communication, and/or other courses dependent on department need as well as applicant background.

Moorpark College, one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District, was founded in 1967. Since the degree on the candidate’s transcripts in the example do not EXACTLY MATCH the degree listed in the minimum qualifications section, this candidate MUST complete theSupplemental Questionnaire for Equivalencyin order to be considered. When completing the form, be sure to explain in detail how your qualifications are equivalent to the required minimum qualifications. Do not assume that you do not need to submit a Supplemental Questionnaire for Equivalency because your degree is similar to a degree stated in the minimum qualifications. Degree titles that are not an exact match will not be considered outside of the equivalency process.
The equivalency review is an independent process for district wide disciplines that is separate from the recruitment process to fill a vacancy. A subcommittee of discipline experts that is coordinated by an Academic Senate President will review the equivalency materials and make a recommendation as to whether or not the applicant demonstrated they have qualifications that are equivalent to those shown in the minimum qualifications section of the job posting. For disciplines that are unique to a specific campus the equivalency may be done by the hiring committee along with an Academic Senate President. PAY PHILOSOPHY
Annual salary is based ona tenmonth contract. Salary is commensurate with academic preparation and experience for placement on the salary schedule. Maximum advanced salary placement credit for prior experience is 7 steps on thefulltime academic salary schedule. Further advancements are based on longevity and educational growth. Fringe benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance plans for you and your eligible dependents.
