Position Overview
Bishop Moore Catholic High School seeks a student-centered, mission-aligned, and knowledgeable College Counselor to guide upper-school students through a comprehensive, values-rooted college counseling program. This role supports students in exploring post-secondary pathways, developing thoughtful and balanced college lists, preparing strong applications, and understanding how their strengths, faith, and purpose connect to their future goals.
The counselor collaborates closely with families, faculty, and administrators and plays an integral role in delivering a supportive, faith-informed, and holistic counseling experience for every student they serve.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. CATHOLIC FAITH
Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. A master’s degree in counseling or a related field is a plus.
5+ years of experience in college admissions or college counseling at an independent or Catholic high school.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
The ability to communicate, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Strong command of both written and spoken English language.
WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to reach, grasp, feel, and see up close and from a far. Must be able to use basic office computer hardware and peripherals, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (15 pounds).
