Job Title: CNC TechnicianJob Description

The CNC Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of CNC machines. This position involves performing machine adjustments, ensuring dimensional accuracy, and supporting production flow by leading operators within the assigned machining area. The role demands strong technical skills, precision measurement abilities, and the expertise to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues, all while upholding high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Perform machine adjustments related to settings, tools, and times.
  • Analyze part measurements to determine necessary adjustments.
  • Read blueprints to ensure dimensional conformance of parts.
  • Review measurement reports to assess product conformity and necessary corrections.
  • Understand and utilize precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Perform re-works both on and off the machine.
  • Apply knowledge of G & M code functions for machine operations.
  • Understand fixturing and work-holding principles.
  • Troubleshoot various issues including general machine errors, tooling errors, and out-of-tolerance programming errors.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy, including quantities and records of previous operations.
  • Perform visual inspections to identify issues early in the production process.
  • Train operators on Standard Operating Procedures and visual inspection details.
  • Help with workflow by identifying bottlenecks and communicating status with supervisors.
  • Support production plans based on priorities, output goals, and line efficiencies.
  • Engage in Lean Manufacturing activities such as TPM, 5S, and Kan-Ban.
Essential Skills
  • Strong understanding of CNC Machine Operation.
  • Ability to identify and correct errors in G&M Codes.
  • Proficiency in setting up tooling and determining appropriate tools from complex technical drawings.
  • Experience with GD&T for technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with working on different mills, lathes, and various axis configurations.
  • Expertise in using precision measurement tools like micrometers and calipers.
  • Capability in troubleshooting machining, tooling, and programming issues.
  • Experience in quality inspection processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in performing adjustments related to machine settings, tools, and times.
  • Ability to read blueprints for ensuring dimensional conformance.
  • Knowledge of fixturing and work-holding principles.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing activities.

The work environment is extremely clean and maintained at a comfortable temperature of 70 degrees daily, ensuring a pleasant working atmosphere. The role involves using advanced CNC technologies and requires adherence to safety standards and quality protocols.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $25.00/hr.
