Cnc Setup Machinist

As a Setup Machinist, you will be responsible for operating both high volume and custom part runs using 4 and 5 axis mills, specifically Mazak's. You will be required to read and interpret prints, set up tooling and jaws, and perform machine setups, with an expectation of completing 1-3 setups per shift. Quality tools will be used for first-piece inspection, and adjustments to CNC machinery will be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Operate 4 and 5 axis mills, particularly Mazak's.
• Read and interpret blueprints for complex setups.
• Set up tooling and jaws for machining processes.
• Perform 1-3 machine setups per shift.
• Conduct first-piece inspection using quality tools such as micrometers and gauges.
• Make necessary adjustments to CNC machinery and touch off tooling.
• Use G&M code for machinery operations.
• Ensure parts meet client specifications using quality instruments.
• Produce parts in runs of approximately 40-50.

• 3-5 years of experience operating CNC Mill machinery.
• Experience with setup tooling.
• Proficiency in using quality instruments like micrometers and various gauges.
• Blueprint reading experience.
• Ability to lift 25+ pounds repetitively.

• NIMS Certification in CNC Machining.
• Previous experience with Mazatrol.

Work Environment

The work environment is a very clean, well-lit, and quiet manufacturing floor. This position is for the 2nd shift from 2 PM to 10 PM, with a $2.50/hr premium for working this shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mishawaka, IN.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Mishawaka,IN.
