Position Summary

The CNC Operator is responsible for producing premium‑quality, high‑precision carbide cutting tools using CNC tool grinding machines and established programs. This is an entry‑level position with prescribed work, close supervision, and limited autonomy. Duties and methods are clearly defined, with detailed instructions provided.


Key Job Responsibilities

· Operate CNC tool grinding machines according to established processes and programs

· Perform machine setup and adjust offsets as required

· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions

· Inspect tools for defects using quality control and measuring equipment

· Monitor product quality throughout the production process

· Communicate quality concerns to programmers and Manufacturing Leads

· Perform daily machine and equipment checks to ensure proper functionality

· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area

· Perform other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications

· High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

· Ability to perform basic math, including metric‑to‑inch and decimal‑to‑fraction conversions

· Ability to follow detailed operating procedures and instructions

· Willingness to work 2nd shift in a manufacturing environment


Preferred Qualifications

· 1–2 years of CNC Operator or manufacturing experience

· Training or certification from a machining or manufacturing institution

· Knowledge of cutters, inserts, and feeds/speeds

· CNC programming exposure or experience

· Willingness to learn and support continuous improvement efforts


Physical Demands

· Light work, including bending into machines and repetitive motion

· Ability to lift up to 20 pounds

· Prolonged periods of standing at a machine


Work Environment

Manufacturing environment with CNC machinery and associated equipment. Safety procedures and personal protective equipment are required.
