Job Title: CNC Machine Operator

Open on shifts - $20-$28/HR

Job Description

This role focuses on operating CNC machines in a high-volume manufacturing environment to produce quality parts according to specifications. You will load raw materials, monitor automated and semi-automated equipment, and perform basic quality inspections using precision measuring tools. You will follow written work instructions, work safely around production machinery, and contribute to a reliable, efficient production process.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines in a manufacturing environment to produce parts according to established specifications and standards.
  • Load raw materials into CNC machines and ensure materials are correctly positioned and secured for production.
  • Monitor CNC equipment during operation, including machines with automatic functions and robotic arms, and promptly address basic issues or escalate as needed.
  • Read and follow basic work instructions, production orders, and standard operating procedures to complete tasks accurately and on time.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to inspect parts as they come off the machine and verify they meet quality requirements.
  • Perform routine quality checks throughout the shift and document inspection results as required.
  • Handle finished parts and raw materials safely, including basic material handling tasks such as loading, unloading, and staging workpieces.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area around the machines to support safety, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and lockout/tagout procedures related to machine operation and material handling.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors about machine performance, quality concerns, and improvement ideas.
  • Show strong interest in learning CNC operations, ask questions to deepen understanding, and actively develop technical skills over time.
  • Support overtime and flexible scheduling needs to meet production demands when required.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large manufacturing facility that is fully air conditioned, offering a comfortable work environment compared to many production plants. While the building exterior is older, the interior is well maintained, clean, and equipped with up-to-date machinery, including CNC equipment and some machines with robotic arms. You will work on the production floor around running machinery, performing material handling and inspections throughout your shift. The schedule can include 2nd or 3rd shift opportunities with a shift differential, as well as frequent overtime for those who choose to work additional hours. Standard industrial safety practices apply, and you will wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures while working around machines and materials.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
