Job Description:
The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing high-quality prototype and small-batch parts using CNC milling equipment. This role involves machine setup, operation, and inspection to ensure precision and conformance to specifications. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and experienced in working with tight tolerances in a clean, well-equipped environment.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (4x10 schedule)
Responsibilities:
- Run CNC vertical and horizontal mills to produce prototype and small production jobs from start to finish.
- Set up and tear down precision machining fixtures and cutting tools per job instructions.
- Verify conformance of finished parts using precision measurement tools.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Deburr and finish parts after machining.
- Assemble machined components as needed for secondary operations.
- Load and unload parts safely into CNC machines.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and identify process improvements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience.
- Experience operating CNC machining centers; DMG Mori or Haas experience is a plus.
- Skilled in the use and care of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
- Ability to work within tight tolerances and follow technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate a forklift, pallet jack, and overhead crane.
