Cloud Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME)

We are seeking a highly experienced Cloud Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME) with 20+ years of overall IT experience and 7+ years of hands‑on application migration experience across AWS, private cloud, and hybrid cloud environments. The candidate must have strong technical depth in application modernization, event‑driven and microservices architectures, and hands‑on engineering skills to design, build, migrate, and cut over complex enterprise workloads to cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- End‑to‑End Migration Leadership & Cutover Execution
- Lead and own end‑to‑end application migration initiatives from on‑premises or private/hybrid cloud environments to AWS, including planning, execution, cutover, and post‑migration stabilization.
- Drive migration wave planning, dependency sequencing, risk assessment, and business‑aligned migration timelines.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive migration runbooks and cutover playbooks, including:
- Detailed technical execution steps
- System dependencies and integration points
- Validation and acceptance checkpoints
- Rollback and contingency procedures
- Plan and execute mock cutovers, rehearsals, and readiness assessments to ensure zero‑ or low‑downtime production migrations.
- Lead production cutovers, war rooms, and go‑live command centers, ensuring rapid issue triage and stakeholder communication.
- Preferably utilize cutover orchestration tools such as Cutover.com to manage task sequencing, ownership, real‑time status tracking, and cross‑team coordination.
